"Promeni Me" is a romantic comedy about generational differences, young people trying to find their way and older people intent on defying their age and themselves. Promeni Me, as the title suggests, addresses our constant desire to change ourselves and our surroundings, even when they become comic and inappropriate. The film provides snapshots into the confused lives of unrelated characters who struggle with, for and against change in tragic-comedic circumstances:
A happily-married, prominent dentist looks on with disdain as his friends descend into mid-life crises, attempting to cling to their fading youth. Thinking he is immune to such foolish dalliances, chance draws him into an unexpected romantic entanglement that sets in motion changes in his own behaviour to become a different person.
A young girl, caught in a failing relationship, yearns for independence and more self-reliance. Her encounter with a young man becomes the basis for his own self-transformation.
A middle-aged woman faces a wrenching choice between the philandering man she has lived with for 25 years and unwanted but tempting freedom.
"Promeni Me" is a story about change, for better or worse.
