Speaking to a number of invited guests, Mr. Mitrovic underscored that the opening of this production facility contributes to the country's economic development. The factory has been built in accordance with strict European standards and respects fully the protection of intellectual property rights (IPR).

Mr. Mitrovic declared his support for the government's actions in fighting piracy in Serbia. He stated that audio-visual piracy is a serious problem facing not only Serbia and Montenegro but the region. He declared that the Pink media group fully supports anti-piracy efforts and pledged the company's active cooperation with local groups/associations in combating the problem. Mr. Mitrovic was joined by the Director of the Customs Service of the Republic of Serbia, Mr. Dragan Jerinic, who congratulated Pink on the company's bold move in expanding its business into this new area. Mr. Jerinic also emphasized the government's actions to protect intellectual property in Serbia and the need to fight piracy.

One of the special guests present at the ceremony was Mr. Hans Christian Schomerus, an official of the Royal Philips Electronics N.V., who is responsible for concluding patent licensing agreements for the Central/East European region. Mr. Schomerus commented on the positive effect that the new plant will have in stimulating new business in the region. He also announced that PDS and Philips have signed a licensing agreement for the use of specialized technology that will facilitate exports from the new production facility. Mr. Schomerus emphasized that the fight against piracy is a vital step in creating new business in Serbia.

The opening event was attended by a number of guests from international companies, banks, film/music industry, and representatives of key IPR-related groups/associations.
